Gamay Saint-Romain - Syrah Blend
Two grape varieties, two vintages. The Saint-Romain Gamay from the cool 2024 vintage joins a sun-drenched 2025 Syrah, hailing from the South, where the mistral blows.
The blend delivers a supple wine, with a silky and velvety texture, opening onto a luscious, dense, and fruity palate with genuine length. No added sulfites.
Grape varieties & terroir
Gamay Saint-Romain (2024 vintage) and Syrah (2025 vintage).
Gamay Saint-Romain: hillsides of the Monts de la Madeleine, at an altitude of 400 m, on granitic sands. 25-year-old vines, yield of 20 hl/ha.
Syrah: somewhere in the South, where the mistral blows, on a sandy-loam terroir. 20-year-old vines, yield controlled at 30 hl/ha.
Organic farming, hand-harvested in small 15 kg crates.
Winemaking & ageing
Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, in stainless steel tanks for the Gamay Saint-Romain and in terracotta amphorae for the Syrah. Free-run and press wines are blended.
Aged for 18 months in used barrels for the Gamay, and 10 months for the Syrah.
Neither fined, nor filtered, nor sulfited: there is no "contains sulfites" mention on the label because the wine contains none. Bottled at the estate (75 cl and magnum), with a natural cork sealed with beeswax.
